A white chest of drawers is very versatile and can be used as part of black and white decorating. This can be a quality piece that you can use throughout your entire life. However, if you like to redecorate a lot this can also be the base for your room. It can really help you just find different ways to create a new look in your space without spending tons of money.
When going with a white bedroom chest of drawers the hardware is really important. This is especially true if it is a different color than the paint. This is really what is going to stand out. For a vintage effect you try going with an iron hardware. This could be oversized. In this case, because it is the focal point of the entire piece of furniture it is very important to go with quality. You can just find different pieces at salvage yards and then try to clean them up or just head out to auctions. For more of a country vibe then you could try using a faux rust finish on them.
An antique white chest of drawers is going to be very soft and romantic feeling so it will work with a black chandelier or black crystal chandeliers. One thing to consider of course is scale and storage. If you go with a tall white chest of drawers it can have room for all of your needs. If you keep your walls white it kind of blends into themes. This can be very important in smaller spaces just because then you won’t have a juxtaposition. Instead people are just going to notice the different finishes of white in the room and it's perfect if you really don't want your furniture to stand out. This is a great option if you just have very simple tastes or pieces that you need to work with.
This can also be kind of a garden or romantic feeling. In fact you could base an entire room around a white wicker chest of drawers. This can be a lot less expensive than going with basic board doors. It also can be lighter in appearance. The one downside to wicker is that sometimes it isn’t as durable or easy to open as wood. This is especially important if you're in an apartment or room that lacks a lot of architectural details. You can really turn your furniture into the focal point. This can be very designer feeling. For instance you could just try going with a different gloss of paint on top of it. This could be the basis for floral designs or even stripes. This could mimic wallpaper and has a very high end look. It's a way to add more sophistication and elegance to a basic focal point just because then it won't seem too juvenile. This could be at home in a master bedroom or even a nursery.
You can also use this in a basic kid's room. You can find a lot of times where it's appropriate to bring in a hand painted piece. This is great if you're coordinating with other painted pieces but you still want something special and new. Right now in the Tuscan design style there seems to be a lot of importance on painted furniture with floral motifs on top. You might want to really balance this out by using a different more masculine version of a nightstand on the other side of the bed just so that things don't seem too feminine. You can even buy the same piece then paint it a different color or just pull out one of the colors of the distressed finish and use it on the other wood tone. The other really great thing about this is that oftentimes it does feature wood or at least a chocolate brown so the pieces can coordinate with the other wood tones in your room.
