Sister Wives Fashion Tips

In Utah it's nice that a lot of people focus on dressing modestly. However, it also leaves me wondering at times if something is popular only in this state. One of these things has to do with a long sleeve t-shirt in winter with either a tank top or a low cut top on top of that. The TLC show Sister Wives showcases this look all the time. Do people in other areas of the country dress like this too?

Decor Stores You Hate

I dislike most mass market decor stores. I'd much rather be at a thrift shop. Even if the item once came from IKEA; at least it's a slightly out of date piece. Plus, then I don't have to bother with the assembly. I think the store I like the least is IKEA. It just sells so many modern things and the prices are reasonable. I looked on craigslist once to see what other countries ideas are for furniture. I found the poang chair or whatever it is called being listed in every country. It's eliminating character and history.

Decorating Guide to White Bedroom Interiors

There are a few simple design concepts that you can apply to white bedroom interiors. This means that you can create a cohesive look with the furniture that you already own. You can also start from scratch but make sure that you really love your investment pieces when you actually get everything done. Here are a few interesting ways that you can apply basic principles to a total room transformation.

If you want a neutral bedroom then you need to focus on texture. This means that you can bring in old wool rugs if you're into a Moroccan kind of vibe. You can even layer several different rugs in the same room. This is vital to really warm up the space. Accessorize with lots of candle holders and lanterns. These can either be in silver with jewel accents or you spray paint inexpensive pieces white.

Texture can also go in more of that modern kind of design direction. For instance if you have a loft style of room this is going to have concrete floors. It's also going to use lots of brick as well as stainless steel and it may have open ductwork. A lot of this may already be in your space so you don't need to experiment with bold colors. Instead, just keep everything bright white. Your furniture can be modern and even slightly lower in scale just so that the focus then will be on the higher ceilings. Scale is important when doing white bedroom furniture for adults. Otherwise it just seems really juvenile.

Color is another key to design bedroom interiors. This can also be one of the most intimidating parts of choosing your decor. You can really be quite funky with this. You could even try painting a checkerboard or a plaid pattern on the walls. However, you don't want it too seem country because this can be a little bit too stuffy. Instead, you could bring in an orange and white harlequin print for a teenage girl. However, you could change the pattern to a plaid for a teenage boy so it still will be masculine. Remember that bold wall colors and murals aren't just for kids. You could use this with a lot of painted white wood furniture for more of a country kind of feeling in a master bedroom. The key to bold colors is always balance.

Pink Black and White Bedroom Ideas

Theme rooms can be the most difficult to pull off successfully. The key here is to be inspired instead of going with very literal items. For instance Asian inspirations can be over the top and can have a lot of paper lanterns in them and bright colors. Instead, you could focus on solid dark pieces of furniture. Bring in a collection of lacquered jewelry boxes. Go for a modern four poster black bed and twist garlands of faux cherry blossoms around it. Depending on how feminine you want the room to be the lantern style is also very popular both in lamps well as ceiling lights. Just choose one or two of these ideas and go for more neutral pieces in the rest of your room. This is the most subtle way to do this color palette and also the most sophisticated. If you want white and pink bedroom furniture then use handpainted details to mimic cherry blossoms.

Another option is to draw your inspiration from your favorite store. This could be Pottery Barn or Anthropologie. You can really find a few items on clearance to get an eclectic look. You can also copy some of your favorite wall colors to drive home the theme for less. This works really well if you have a designer inspiration room and you can still add your own personal creative touches but it also helps you to stay within a budget.

Shopping for a White Bed

When you pick out a white bed you really need to pay attention to the details. Whenever you have the same piece of furniture for several years or decades it can seem a little bit boring. This is why just focusing in on really subtle embellishments is going to make all the difference.

You might want to really consider this color palette if you're going to go with a really oversized piece. This could be a four poster bed or just a sleigh bed. This can help it blend into the room so that it doesn't seem so large even if it really is.

Black and white beds or anything that's very modern like a platform style is very popular. The great thing about this style is that it can often have drawers underneath. This can be a subtle architectural detail if the drawers are paneled. You might even be able to find some with frosted glass fronts. This is going to be extremely contemporary. It can relate back to a lot of other frosted windows or wardrobes that you have in your space. This is a way to get embellishments in the room without adding an extra accent color.

White wooden beds can feel very country. This is just an opportunity to stay away from heavy oak designs. Real wood can be quite expensive. It can also be quite heavy in the room and really dominate the space. Just going for a painted wood is really going to change this. If you have a good imagination you can find a lot of these pieces that were popular a few decades ago and really turn them into something a lot more modern. This might even just have subtle iron details. You could paint these out or leave them as is.

For a girl's white bed you want to make sure that it really has an intricate silhouette. A good way to do this is with a canopy bed. A four poster bed will also work. This instantly gives it a princess like feel. You could even just add in subtle touches such as curtains or a canopy on top of it. This could also be in the same white color or you could change it up into a more subtle pink.

The great thing about a white bed that you can really explore is all different kinds of bedding options. One thing that you can do for a contemporary kind of space is just going to be to stick with a monochromatic color palette. You can head to white sales to get high thread count sheets and pair it with a white goose down comforter. This way you won't have to mix and match fabrics. It's great for small spaces because it does look so light and airy.

You can take the cues for your bedding from the style of the bed. For instance if you have a platform bed then this is contemporary. This is going to call for more graphic styles of bedding. A great way to accomplish this is just if you have a more traditional style such as a four poster design then you can go with either an elegant damask print or a simple country quilt.

White Wardrobe and Armoire Design Ideas

A white wardrobe can really have a lot of personality to it. This is really a statement piece. It's one of the biggest pieces of furniture that you can own. This also makes it the most expensive. This means that you really going to have to balance it out quite carefully. You can match a lot of your existing furniture. This is a great option if you have a lot of clothes. If you have two dressers in one area they can feel quite cluttered. You may just want to instead try using a larger piece that will give you all of the storage that you need.

If you go with a country kind of design style then there are a lot of different options for this. You could just go with a basic paneled door. This can seem a little bit traditional. You can even embellish it yourself just with the knobs. If it has white knobs on it then try hanging a tassel from the doors for more of a traditional kind of effect. You could even get a simple, rustic Christmas ornament such as a star and hang it from the knobs for an added embellishment.

You can also find a lot of white wardrobe ideas that are going to use really beautiful panel kinds of design styles. This can have a beach like effect that fits in with a whitewashed wood. If you choose a painted white piece then again this is going to feel very country. These pieces are also appropriate enough for a girl's wardrobe. You may even be able to convert it into a makeshift home office.

One thing you may want to consider when going with a white wardrobe armoire is going to be a modern kind of design style. This usually just has flat doors. They can swing open or slide. This can even be a built-in piece. In this case it's usually going to feature a frosted glass. This way you can’t see into your closet but you do have a little bit of light moving throughout the space. This can even be the focal point of your entire room just because it is such an unusual element and it does provide so much storage space.

When you go with a girl's wardrobe then you really want to make it a lot of fun. You should really have oversized French pieces so it's very ornate. It needs to have as much molding as possible. This is really going to make it very special and it can also seem a little bit shabby chic.

You can also just add a lot of these elements into your existing closet or armoire. For instance a hanging wardrobe is going to have a lot of different shoe racks. You can have several rods to it. This allows you to really maximize your hanging space, as well as your storage space. You can also implement a lot of different textures such as canvas materials which are still going to be quite inexpensive.
